What makes “I Know This Place” a Web 2.5 Game

RBL Labs, a web3 gaming studio and creator of the popular play-to-earn card game LegendsOfCrypto, is set to release “I Know This Place” (IKTP), a Web 2.5 game on Steam. IKTP is a community-driven quest game that leverages blockchain technology, allowing players to vote on the game’s direction and influence its development.

“I Know This Place” presents players with a series of simple and complex riddles to solve as they progress through the game. As they advance, players can vote on the content and direction of future chapters via a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). DAOs use blockchain technology to enable transparent, secure voting by the entire community.

After completing the first chapter, players can influence future chapters through the DAO. This innovative approach allows for a full-fledged communication channel between the game’s developers and its fans, effectively making everyone a co-author. Players can not only influence the plot through voting but also propose their own artifacts to be added to the game.

The DAO concept empowers players to influence the game’s plot by creating votes and inviting the community to support their ideas. By using blockchain technology, IKTP ensures a transparent and secure voting process that accurately reflects players’ preferences and prevents tampering.

Overall, blockchain technology enables a truly decentralized gaming experience in IKTP. Unlike traditional gaming models, where players are passive content consumers, IKTP allows players to actively participate in the game’s development. This means that players can trust that their votes will be counted and that their voices will be heard. This groundbreaking approach paves the way for a more immersive and rewarding gaming experience.

“I Know This Place” also serves as an introduction to the world of cryptocurrencies for those unfamiliar with the concept. As more games adopt Web3 technology, players can expect increased interactivity and a new level of engagement in the gaming world.

Walkthrough of Web 2.5 Integration & the Role of $LOCG in IKTP

1. Players begin their journey by purchasing the first chapter of IKTP on Steam. Upon completion, they are prompted to fill out a special form, which includes specific questions about their preferences for future chapters and a field for submitting their own ideas.
2. The form also contains a separate field requesting players to input their MetaMask wallet address. Instructions for creating a wallet are provided alongside.
3. Once a player submits their MetaMask wallet address, they will receive 20 $LOCG tokens to their ETH wallet addresses, enabling them to participate in the voting process.
4. Active DAO participants are encouraged and rewarded with unique NFT cards as a token of appreciation.
5. All $LOCG token holders are eligible to vote.
6. Players with a minimum of 1,000 $LOCG tokens can create a vote and claim exclusive NFTs.
7. Players can also add personal items or photos to future chapters. To do so, players must pay a small fee in USDT or $LOCG token.
8. Voting takes place on the Snapshot platform, with links to voting shared across our community channels.
9. Players who actively participate in voting and contribute to the game’s storyline gain access to private Discord and Telegram chats. Here, they can share ideas and create preliminary polls before they are released for public voting.
10. Later, IKTP will introduce an exclusive council where decision-making will be happening with $LOCG token and with the burn mechanic — every vote will require an amount in $LOCG that will be burned, reducing the total supply of $LOCG and recording the transaction on blockchain.

The Release of the upcoming “I Know This Place?” will be held on April 20 on Steam. Head over to add IKTP to your wishlist and be one of the first players to vote on the direction of future chapters!
