The world of gaming is continuously evolving, and “I Know This Place” (IKTP) is a perfect example of how blockchain technology is revolutionizing the industry.

One of the key features of IKTP is its Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), which empowers players to actively participate in the game’s development and decision-making process. In this article, we will delve into how the DAO works in IKTP and the benefits it offers to players.

Step 1: Joining the DAO

After purchasing the first chapter of IKTP, players have the opportunity to join the DAO by completing a registration form. This process allows them to express their interest in participating in the game’s development.

After completing a chapter, each player will contribute to the development of the story by completing a form with responses to the questions asked.

To participate more seriously in the game’s development, and make proposals on adding new items or puzzles to the game, players need to be a part of the DAO.

Step 2: Receiving LOCG Tokens

After completing the form to express interest in joining the DAO, players will receive 10 LOCG tokens, which is the minimum amount required for voting on proposals. These tokens enable players to have a say in the direction of the game and contribute to its growth.

To receive the tokens, players must provide us with their ETH wallet addresses when completing the form, and they will be credited with free LOCG tokens.

Players who do not have a crypto wallet can create one. Here’s a guide on how to get started with using the Metamask wallet.

Step 3: Creating Proposals

Players who hold 8,000 LOCG tokens or more will have the ability to create proposals for other players to vote on. This feature allows players with a significant stake in the game to put forth their ideas and influence the game’s development.

Here are some examples of plots that the DAO can vote on:

1) What should the hero do in the next chapter?

a. Look at the flats on the ground floor, but cannot go outside
b. Chase the Brawnie or Domowoi higher up the staircase
c. The hero must finish the action in this flat, he cannot get out of the flat

2) Which new hero should be introduced?

a. A strange neighbour
b. An object that came to life
c. Someone from the yard

For example, a player who holds more than 8,000 LOCG tokens can make a proposal like this “Let’s add a room with photos of the game’s best commentators to the game!”. As a significant stakeholder, the proposal will be approved and the photo room added.

Step 4: Joining the DAO Council

After casting their vote, players are invited to join a private Discord group designated for DAO council members. This exclusive group is responsible for making crucial decisions about the game’s direction and future updates.

Step 5: Ensuring Player Influence

If a player holds a substantial amount of LOCG tokens, their opinion or vote must be executed, ensuring their voice is heard. This feature allows players to suggest the elements they would like to see in the game, further enhancing the gaming experience.

The DAO mechanism in “I Know This Place” is a groundbreaking approach to game development, allowing players to have a direct impact on the game’s direction and updates. This level of involvement not only creates a more immersive gaming experience but also fosters a strong sense of community among players. As more games adopt blockchain technology and incorporate DAOs, the future of gaming promises to be more engaging and rewarding than ever before.
